Some of the common uses and purposes of these two freshwater algae are for rejuvenating the human body, improving the mental energy level and some other energy levels of the body, for detoxifying any unwanted chemicals, and improving or enhancing the immune system. The spirulina and the chlorella are available to be purchased in the market in various forms, such as in powdered green supplements, in capsule form, in individual powder, and in tablet form.

The term sea vegetables is also known as seaweeds, and they are found in the ocean. Kombu, nori, dulse and kelp are the four most popular examples of seaweeds or sea vegetables, and they are rich in various minerals like iodine, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and zinc. These sea vegetables can be easily purchased in different supermarkets, and usually they are dried and ready to be eaten; and they also vary in flavor, texture and appearance.
